There are various recipes that can help you make an apple pie. It all depends on what you are used to. Apple pie is American for some, English or Dutch for others, and French for those like me. The thing I like about the French and their food, is that, it frequently all boils down to butter and jam.
This fact is quite inspiring in winter, when you always need something tasty and warm to go with your coffee or tea. So here’s a very easy way to make a simple and delicious apple pie. The dough is not made from scratch this time, I cheated with a frozen ready-made puff pastry dough, but it’s worth it anyway 🙂

What you’ll need:

– One 250 g round frozen “pate feuilletee” (i.e. puff pastry)
– Margarine (a healthier alternative to butter)
– Apricot Jam
– 5 medium-sized Apples
– Cinnamon Powder
– A bit of icing Sugar (optional)
– A pie mold

How to make it:

1) If your pie mold is not made from silicon, grease it with a little bit of vegetable oil so that the pie doesn’t stick

2) After defrosting your dough, spread it on your pie mold and poke it randomly with a fork so that the dough doesn’t inflate in your oven

3) Cut the apples in the way you like and spread them on the dough

4) On top of the apples, spread little pieces of margarine

5) Then spread as much as you’d like apricot jam

6) Sprinkle with cinnamon powder and icing sugar

7) Place in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the dough looks golden

And there you have it! Serve with tea, coffee, or have it for breakfast!
